Job Duties
Finishing carpenters fit doors, frames, skirting, cabinets and panels with clean joints and accurate levels. Wood painters prepare surfaces, apply stain, lacquer and paint, and give furniture and joinery a smooth final finish.
Requirements
Candidates need hands-on experience in their trade and must pass a practical test. Workers who know machine tools, spray guns and modern finishes will have a better chance. A valid passport is required.
Duty Hours and Contract
Duty time is 8 hours per day and the contract is for two years.
Trade Test Date and Venue
The trade test will be held on 2 and 3 November 2026, from Monday to Tuesday. The venue is Qaid Technical Trade Testing Centre, D-461, Near 6th Road, Satellite Town, Rawalpindi.
Tips for the Trade Test
In a carpentry test, examiners check joint quality, accuracy and finishing. Bring your own measuring tape and pencil, and work neatly rather than quickly.
For wood painters, the test usually covers surface preparation, sanding, filling and a smooth coat with a brush or spray gun. Show that you can avoid runs, bubbles and uneven colour.
