This is a respected teaching and training role inside the army. Also, JCOs in the Education Corps teach soldiers and support training programmes across units.
Who Can Apply
Male citizens of Pakistan, Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan can apply. In addition, both married and unmarried men are eligible for this post.
Age and Service Limit
Civilian candidates must be 20 to 28 years old as of 28 February 2027. Moreover, serving soldiers can apply between 20 and 35 years of age with 1 to 16 years of service.
Height Requirement
The minimum height is 5 feet 6 inches (167.5 cm). Therefore, the army will not accept candidates below this height.
Education Required
Candidates need at least a BSc or ADS (Associate Degree in Science) with two of these subjects:
- Physics
- Chemistry
- Mathematics
- Biology (Zoology/Botany)
- Geography
- Computer Science
- Commerce
However, the army gives preference to candidates with a BS or MS degree.
Selection Method
Candidates first sit a basic intelligence and psychological test at the nearest Army Selection and Recruitment Centre. Besides, those who pass take a detailed written exam. It covers English, Urdu, Islamiat, General Knowledge, History and one subject of your choice from the list above.
Candidates who pass the written test go through a medical exam and an interview before final selection.
Pay and Benefits
The ad does not show the salary. Furthermore, a newly inducted JCO (Naib Subedar) usually earns around Rs. 80,000 to 100,000 per month with allowances. Benefits include free medical care for the family, housing, rations and a pension after service.

Preparation Tips
Start revising your chosen science subject right away, because the written test covers a lot. Also, read Pakistan affairs, current events and basic Islamiat for the general sections. Practise English and Urdu essay writing and grammar as well.
Stay physically fit, as the medical exam checks overall health, eyesight and fitness. In addition, carry all documents in a file on the test day and arrive early at the recruitment centre.
